Letter from Tammy Gore, Executive Director

“A Friend to Business”—for 25 years!

That’s right, the NBCC is celebrating 25-years of dedication to our
businesses, non-profit service organizations, residents, students, and
visitors alike, here in the East Penn Valley in Northeast Berks County,
Pennsylvania.

We continue to celebrate our roots and all that makes us special here
in the “Valley” with NBCC member events such as: the world’s largest
Annual Chili Pepper Festival, Bowers; the Fiddle Festival, Lyons; the
Hamburg-er Festival, Hamburg; the world-renown birds of prey sanctuary,
Hawk Mountain Sanctuary Association, Kempton; Blues Festival,
Fleetwood; Topton Halloween Parade, Topton, and of course The
Pennsylvania Dutch Folk Festival, Kutztown. These events bring
tens-of-thousands of people to the “valley” to enjoy some of our
unique offerings among our friendly residents with the backdrop of
our majestic mountains and serene farm lands.

We celebrate our progress as well with NBCC member companies
like, East Penn Manufacturing Co, Inc., the largest employer in Berks
County in the heart of our area, but whose sales reach globally.
We have the latest in health care available with the Lehigh Valley
Health Network and Reading Hospital in our midst, and among our
members.

Education is important with Kutztown University, Maxatawny Township,
and Berks Technical Institute, Wyomissing, bringing in students from
near and far to our area to learn and grow. We also represent the local
school districts of Brandywine Heights Area, Fleetwood Area, Hamburg
Area, Kutztown Area, and the Oley Valley. The future of our area is in
good hands with the incredible education and opportunities provided
our students and the engagement of faculty, parents, and residents.

Last, but certainly not least, the hundreds of store front shop owners,
service providers, and non-profit organizations that line our downtowns
and all the roads in between are just as important. One needs to look
no further than this very directory to see that the hard working,
entrepreneurial spirit and “never say never attitude” is present in
the “Great East Penn Valley” with our more than 250 members.

It gives me great pride to welcome you to Northeast Berks County,
where the committed investment of our Chamber members, non-profit
service organizations and engaged citizens have made this region feel
like everyone’s Hometown America! The Northeast Berks Chamber of
Commerce has been here for 25-years and continues to serve and
grow in this magnificent area that we are fortunate to call “Home”.
